Headshot Portraits

A wonderful friend of mine asked that I draw a portrait of them. They are often asked for headshots to submit when they participate in workshops or panels. “Professional headshots” can be harsh, forced, and often fall short of reflecting our true(ish) selves. I got a few photos of my friend, grabbed the closest piece of paper and the biggest marker I could find and drew up the first sketches. After some feedback and careful adjustments, I feel I captured them well. Below are some of the headshot portraits I have created.

And some I felt I couldn’t capture fully with a single image. So I made several drawings and turned them into an ever-shifting portrait, that every once in a while offers a glimpse of them.
